Message from Principal, Ivy Sarratt

Please join me in congratulating Eric Brown.  He will be Castlemont's new Principal starting the 2016-17 school year.  As many of you know, Eric has been the Assistant Principal for the past 3 years and is highly qualified to take the reins of our incredible World Famous Castlemont.  We are very excited by his new appointment and wish him all the best.

This book tells the story of how one child found the courage to be an UP-stander and tell a teacher about a fellow student who was being picked on and bullied by children in school.

Spring Book Fair is opening on Monday! March 9, 2016 - 1:23pm

Please join us for the annual Spring Book Fair “Feeling Groovy About Books” The fair will be open during lunchtime and most days after school (2:30-3:30 pm).  Please see the signs on campus or on our website for more information. On Wednesday, March 16 we will be hosting a Book Fair Family Night and bake sale from 5:30-7:30 pm. Bake sale donations can be dropped off at the HSC office or at the Book Fair anytime up to the start of the event. Proceeds benefit the ALL FOR BOOKS program.

Castlemont Jog-A-Thon T-Shirt Contest March 9, 2016 - 11:44am

This year’s Jog-a-Thon will be a rockin’ event! Please make sure to turn in your T-shirt design sheets by March 17. We look forward to seeing the designs our “rock star” students come up with!

Special Bike Event Wednesday, March 23 March 9, 2016 - 11:29am

We want to see more students and parents riding their bikes to school! We know bikes need a lot of maintenance and that’s why we’ve invited the BikeMobile to provide Free Tune Ups for all parents, students and teachers at our school! Last year’s event was very popular, so be sure to turn in your sign-up sheets quickly.

Federal Court Judge Kimberly Mueller held a hearing to amend her recent ruling pertaining to the protocol for releasing personally identifiable student information by the California Department of Education (CDE). She noted that the large number of objections the court has already received did indicate a high level of concern from the public.

The District is identifying which new Math textbooks and instructional materials to recommend for next school year. Come to either of these two sessions to see the materials yourself and to offer input and suggestions.

New Preschool Options for 2016-2017! February 26, 2016 - 2:39pm

Two of our preschools will begin offering 12-month programming in the 2016-17 school year.  Open to ALL families, these 12-month preschool programs will be located at Marshall Lane and Forest Hill schools.

We also will be adding a new Toddler classroom, for children ages 2-3, at Marshall Lane, on August 24, 2016.  Limited space is available.
