Clothing Donations From time to time students need a change of clothes in the health office. We appreciate pants and underpants, especially girls’, sizes 5 to 12. Elastic waistbands are especially desired. Please drop off your gently used pants and underpants in the office. Thank you! |

You can enroll your children in Medi-Cal or Healthy Kids healthcare insurance programs for children on Thursday, May 14, from 9-11 am at the Blackford Elementary School Family Resource Center, 1970 Willow Street, in San Jose. Please bring proof of address, proof of income and birth certificates for the children. Bring social security cards for the children if available. For more details call Catholic Charities at (408) 380-8600. |

We love our students ... and we want them here every day, all day. When students miss school, they miss instruction, social interaction with their peers, and a valuable life-time work ethic about the importance of showing up to their job, which is school, on time and staying until the final bell rings. If a child misses just 10 minutes of school each day, they would miss 30 hours of instruction time in the school year. We are responsible for teaching your child every day so they have the skills to be successful in school and life, and so every minute they are here counts. |

Congratulations to Ms. Jisung Chong, this year’s Teacher of the Year! Ms. Chong teaches 2nd grade and has continued to demonstrate what it takes to be an exemplary teacher. Her devotion to her students and the school are unsurpassed. Her peers, students, and the greater Castlemont community respect her considerably. We are very proud of Ms. Chong, our Teacher of the Year. |
