A Message from Principal Mr. Eric Brown

Welcome to the 2016-17 school year!  We are so excited to begin the new year with an invitation to join us Thursday night August 25 from 5:00-6:30 PM, on the field for our annual Family Picnic social.  Just bring your dinner and a blanket and join other Castlemont families and get reacquainted, while also meeting new parents and their children.  It’s a family friendly way to get to know the Castlemont community, which is always a fun and supportive group.

While you were vacationing, we had a couple of changes in staff.   Ms. Catherine (Cathy) McAvoy has joined us as the new Assistant Principal.  Ms. McAvoy has been coaching our district teachers for the past two years.  Prior to this she was a teacher at Monroe Middle and Blackford Elementary.  Ms. Chong has returned after a year in Indiana and will replace Mrs. Bolanos in third grade.  Mrs. Balcazar is also returning this year and will be teaching fifth grade.  She is replacing Mrs. Norum who has become our new Equity Coach.  We are thrilled to have them as members of our wonderful staff and school community.
