Message from the Principal - Traffic
Thank you for your patience regarding the busy traffic, especially on rainy days. Due to the wet weather that will likely be here for a while, dropping off and picking up your child has generated its own set of challenges.
To best minimize congestion and frustration, we appreciate every effort you are making to allow more time to get your child to school before the bell rings. As a reminder, and safety priority for everyone, please do not double park in the street or parking lot to drop off or pick up your child. Take the extra minutes to find parking in the neighborhood and walk to campus using the crosswalk.
Payne and Castlemont Avenues continue to be our busiest streets and therefore a safety concern. Too often drivers are in a hurry and forget that all streets near Castlemont are part of a school zone. We need every driver to drive with extreme caution and to abide by the speed limit. Additionally, PLEASE do not drop your child off in the middle of the block as this only encourages them to jaywalk, which is extremely unsafe and illegal. Our children depend on your good driving skills and judgment, while also modeling behavior that they are watching.
