Castlemont Elementary School

School Site Council Election, Fall 2015

School Site Council

One of the most important decision-making groups at Castlemont is our elected School Site Council. The Council is composed of parents, community members, and representatives from the school’s staff. The Council reviews the school plan annually, establishes a budget, makes modifications as necessary, and assists in the evaluation of the school’s programs.

There are currently 4 seats to be filled. We meet a minimum of four, though no more than six times throughout the year on Mondays at 3:00 p.m. Members are elected by the groups that they represent. If you are interested in running for the Council, please submit your name, with a short biography, to the front office by Wednesday, September 9. The voting ballot will be sent home in a Monday envelope. The candidates receiving the most votes will serve on the Council as parent/community representatives. Write-in candidates receiving votes have an equal opportunity to be elected or serve as alternates on the Council. The elected council members will be notified and their names will be posted in the front office.
