Yummy Grapefruit Sampling
Does your child love grapefruit? You may be surprised to learn he or she does! On Wednesday, March 22nd, Castlemont students sampled the locally grown grapefruit that was served in the cafeteria that day. The UC CalFresh Nutrition Education Program and the Palo Alto Medical Foundation Youth Nutrition Program staffed a “voting station” in the cafeteria so students could provide feedback on the fresh fruit to Nutrition Services. The results were exciting with 156 kids saying they loved it, 38 saying they liked it, and only 55 saying it was not for them today.
