Important Dates in August and September
Enjoy your summer, but first please mark these important dates on your calendar! Look for details in your Welcome Back envelope which should arrive in your mailbox during the third week of August.
Tuesday, August 16
KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP - Watch your mail during the second week of August for more information about your appointment for Kindergarten Roundup. You will have an appointment for your Kindergartener for an assessment by a Castlemont teacher for approximately 20 minutes. If you are unable to make your appointment, your child will be assessed after school starts.
Tuesday, August 16 at 5:00 pm
KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION - with the Principal and Kindergarten Teachers in the Multi-Use Room. If you are unable to attend this orientation, there will be another orientation with the Principal after you have dropped off your child on the first day of school, August 24 at 8:30 am. Please join us at either or both orientations. The same information will be covered in both orientations.
Tuesday, August 23 at 5:00 pm
CLASS LISTS POSTED – You will need your five digit student ID number found in the envelope which was mailed to you earlier in August. No names will be listed for privacy.
Wednesday, August 24
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL – School begins at 8:20 am. Adult supervision begins at 8:00 am. Wednesdays are minimum days at Castlemont. TK through 3rd grade will be released at 1:30 and 4th and 5th grades will be released at 1:35.
KINDERGARTEN ORIENTATION –At 8:30 am, after you have dropped off your child in the classroom, come to the Multi-Use room to learn about the Kindergarten Program from the Principal at 8:30 am. If you attended the Orientation on August 24, you may attend this orientation, as well. The same information will be covered in both orientations.
Thursday, August 25, 5:00-6:30 pm
WHOLE SCHOOL PICNIC - Join other Castlemont families and bring your own picnic for an informal gathering on the large field.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
6:00-7:00 pm 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades
7:00-8:00 pm TK, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grades
