One of the most important decision-making groups at Castlemont is our elected School Site Council. The Council is composed of five parent and community members and five representatives from the school’s staff.

The Council reviews the school plan annually, establishes a budget, makes modifications as necessary, and assists in the evaluation of the school’s programs. Members are elected by the groups that they represent. Parent and community representatives and alternates are elected for a two-year term and may stand for re-election upon the completion of each term.  If you are interested in running for the Council, please submit your name, with a short biography, to the front office by Tuesday, April 2. (You may email your name and biography to Susan Cardello - scardello [at] campbellusd.org) The voting ballot will be sent home on Monday, April 22 and returned to the front office by Monday, April 29.  The elected council members will be notified and his/her name posted by Monday, May 6.

There are currently 2 seats to be filled. The two candidates receiving the most votes will serve on the Council as parent/community representatives. Write-in candidates receiving votes have an equal opportunity to be elected or serve as alternates on the Council. We meet 6 times throughout the year on weekday afternoons at 3:00 pm.

Jog-A-Thon

Planning for Castlemont's annual Jog-a-thon on Friday, May 24th is currently underway and we are in need of your help.  The Castlemont Home and School Club is offering the opportunity to businesses to sponsor the t-shirts that will be worn by nearly 1,000 students, faculty, parents and volunteers.  There are varying levels of sponsorship options and all include the business name or logo printed on the back of all the shirts.  If you know of a business that may be interested please reach out to the Jog-a-thon Chair Emily Winters at eloek [at] yahoo.com.  It can be a business you own, work for, or one you frequent often and would love to support the amazing students and teachers at Castlemont.  Without the wonderful business sponsors, the Jog-a-thon would not be possible!
