We are very excited to get this year started!  As in the past, we will continue to show our school spirit on Fridays, wearing our school colors or Castlemont t-shirts/sweatshirts.   Similar to last year, we will also be designating certain Wednesdays throughout the year as “Special Spirit Theme Days”.  On these days, students and staff will dress according to the theme, and classrooms will compete to win the Dragon Spirit Award and popscicle treat. Winning classrooms will be determined based on the highest percentage of participation within their grade levels (TK-1, 2-3, and 4-5). Winners will be announced at monthly spirit assemblies.

Here is the calendar of Spirit Theme Days:

  • Wed. September 26th  Neon Day - wear your brightest neon colors
  • Wed., October 17th College Day - wear your favorite shirt, hat, sweatshirt….  from any college or the colors of your classroom teacher’s college.
  • Wed. November 14th Pajama Day - wear your favorite pajamas
  • Wed. January 23rd Sports Day - wear the shirt, hat, etc ... of your favorite team.
  • Wed. March 20th Super Hero/Cartoon Character Day – come dressed in attire of your favorite cartoon character or super hero.
  • Wed. April 24th  Hat Day - wear your favorite hat all day

If you have any questions about our Spirit Theme Days, please feel free to call or email Assistant Principal Catherine McAvoy. We look forward to seeing our dragon spirit at Castlemont again this year.

CUSD is going paperless this year, so you won't receive a big envelope of paperwork from Castlemont.

Did you receive your digital back-to-school packet by email from our District Office? (Search your inbox from August 1 for the sender Shelley Wedel.)

Yes?
Complete the packet on-line and you're finished!

No?
Pick up a hardcopy packet in the Castlemont office.  You may complete it in the office or take it home and return it on or before the first day of school.

OR if you cannot pick up a hardcopy packet, please call our office 408-364-4233 X 0.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT

Have a great summer!

Updated Wed, Aug 1st

The end of the year is here!  Can you believe it?  Before you leave for the summer, I wanted to express my gratitude for all of the support that you have provided over this school year.

We hope that over the summer you have time to rest and relax with your family and friends.  In addition, it will be important for your child(ren) to continue to develop their academics skills.  Provide them with opportunities to read, write, and use math.  It will help them to be prepared for the coming year.

Thank you for sharing your children with us!  It has been a remarkable year!  Have a wonderful summer!  If you will not be joining us next year, best of luck to you and your family.  If you are coming back, we will see you on August 22nd! Have a great summer!

---Eric Brown
