Get your holiday shopping done and raise money for Castlemont!  Scrip is just another way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks, and credit cards. Families can purchase these gift cards through Castlemont HSC for a wide variety of merchants including grocers, gas stations, retail stores and restaurants. These merchants agree to donate a percentage of the money spent back to our school; percentages range from 1% to 20%, depending on the merchant.

Orders are due December 7th and expected delivery is December 13th.  Order forms are in the office and can also be downloaded from www.castlemonthsc.weebly.com under the "Flyers & Forms" tab.

With the help of our dedicated volunteers, we were able to get over 1,700 books into the hands of Castlemont students and their families! Thanks to all the families who gave donations for the All for Books program, the fair was able to sponsor TWO $6.00 book vouchers per classroom.  The vouchers were given to students who may not have been able to get books from the Book Fair otherwise! It's a wonderful way to support our students development and curiosity.

Save the Date: Spring Book Fair will be coming March 2nd - March 9th.  Volunteers will be needed and are always welcome!

Thanksgiving

As we head into the holiday season, it is nice to pause and reflect on the many things for which we are thankful.  I want to take this opportunity to share just a few of them with you.  We are  thankful for our students who come to school every day ready to learn – they give us all a daily reminder of what is important and why we are here.  We are thankful for the support of the parents in creating an outstanding partnership for our students.  We are thankful for the teachers, assistants, health aides, secretaries, nurses, lunchroom aides, support staff, therapists and administrators who really care about student achievement and have the best interests of our students at heart.  We are also thankful for our volunteers who enthusiastically contribute so much to our school.

We see dedicated and tireless individuals going above and beyond to make sure that great things happen in our school. They do make a difference, and the children, in their own individual ways, benefit from those efforts.

Most importantly, we are thankful for the parents, for their continued trust in us.  They continue to share their most treasured gifts with us and advocate to be a partner in their children’s education, safety and well-being. For this, we are ever so thankful.

I would like to wish all of you and your families a happy, healthy and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday!
