Castlemont students have the opportunity to participate in our school-wide Halloween Parade on Friday, Oct. 30, at 8:30 am.

Please keep the following items at home: full face masks, swords, guns or other weapons (even if they are part of the costume) and save face makeup and hair color for your evening celebrations.

Students are encouraged to come to school ready for the parade with an appropriate costume and regular clothing on underneath.  After the parade, children will remove their costume and regular instruction will begin.

Parents who would like to view the parade can do so from the blacktop area. So, bring your cameras and/or video recorders and enjoy the show!

Starting January 2016, new incoming students or those students transitioning from elementary to middle school will no longer be able to provide a personal belief statement or religious exemption for immunizations.

Under the 2015 Senate Bill 277, there is provision for “grandfathering” students who currently have a statement of belief or religious exemption until they reach their next vaccination checkpoint – kindergarten or 7th grade.  A licensed physician can exempt students from immunizations.

For more information about immunization requirements, contact the California Department of Public Health (916) 558-1784 or ask your health care provider.
