As the 2014-2015 school year comes to an end, I find myself reflecting upon the year with fond memories. How quickly the time has passed. I would like to thank the entire World Famous Castlemont community of parents, teachers, support staff and children for making our school the successful and exceptional place that it is. On behalf of the World Famous Castlemont staff, we want you to enjoy your summer vacation and create wonderful memories with your children by continuing to encourage them to read, going to a baseball game, having a picnic in the park and spending time together.

Due to the decrease in student ridership, the Campbell Union School District will no longer provide bus service to Castlemont beginning August 2015. For those few students who ride the bus, parents will need to find alternate transportation.

(Please note Downing Avenue residents have received recent notices about a bus option that may be available to them.)

World Famous Castlemont has a wonderful campus with a large grass field and multiple play structures. Our students have been working very hard throughout the year to keep Castlemont a safe and clean place. As the field is open in the evening and weekends for community events, such as soccer, we would like to keep our campus clean and protect the existing environment. So when you visit Castlemont on weekends or evenings, we appreciate your help supporting our school efforts by encouraging others to leave nothing behind (i.e. trash, cigarette butts, etc.). Thank you for helping us keep our campus clean and safe for our students and the community.

Argh Mateys! This year’s pirate-themed Jog-A-Thon takes place on Friday, May 22. Please take note of the pledge form enclosed in today’s Monday Envelope. We have Laser Quest tickets, gift cards and more this year as prizes for top earners. As always, we also need volunteers the day of the event to help it run smoothly. If you are not able to help in person the day of the Jog-A-Thon, please consider donating a case of bottled water for your child’s class. Lastly, we just want to remind you that each student who donates $5 or more towards the Jog-A-Thon t-shirt by May 7 will receive a small prize and their name in a drawing for a $10 Yogurtland gift card. Donations for the shirts will continue to be accepted after May 7. The shirts are provided to every student and the donations are greatly appreciated to help offset the cost.
