Hello Castlemont Families,

My favorite season has arrived!  To me, autumn means two things -- parent/teacher conferences and pumpkins. 

Next week, October 5-9, is conference week.  Our teachers are reaching out to you now to schedule your time slot.  Please check your messages and your email to respond if you haven't had a chance to do so yet.  

Take a look at the featured photo for this article. These four pumpkins were grown in our school garden, and Ms. Jerry was kind enough to harvest them and bring them to the office.  Look for the "Pumpkin Contest" article here on this webpage for a chance to win one of them. Our staff has the chance to enter also.  Watch the video, guess the number of candies in the bucket, and fill out the form to enter!

Chipotle Fundraiser - Save the date!

Save the date! On October 21st, Chipotle at 1815 S. Bascom Ave. in Campbell is hosting a give back night to benefit the HSC and Castlemont students and staff.  The event will include all sales made in store with the digital flyer and online using the Castlemont promo code F6HB3K4 between the hours of 5 and 9 pm. Chipotle will generously be donating 33% of all sales when Castlemont is mentioned!!!

Charleston Wrap Continues!

We are halfway through the Charleston Wrap fundraiser and we have reached 40% of our $10,000 goal! Keep up the great work supporting Castlemont students and teachers. There are nearly endless choices of gift wrap, kitchen and home items as well as lots of great gift ideas.  If you have not already registered your student to participate in the fundraiser, go to www. charlestonwrapstore.com.   Using the organization ID 11751 and family contact information, follow the simple steps to get signed up. From there you can send out emails, text messages and share on social media to get the word out to friends and family.  The fundraiser runs until October 30th.

Hello Castlemont Families,

I would like to thank all of you who have taken time out of your evenings to join us for one of our grade-level Back to School Nights and our Coffee with the Principal. We will continue to share as much information as we can as often as we can, especially while we are not able to visit with you at our classroom doors, our office, and our drop-off lines.

Coming up October 5th-9th is another communication opportunity via our parent/teacher conferences.  Your child's teacher will be reaching out to you soon to schedule a conference time.  Between October 12th- 23rd your student will participate in the Panorama survey, which measures perceptions of our school culture and climate. Kindergarten - 2nd grade teachers input their observations of students, and 3rd - 5th grade students take the survey independently.  Staff also takes the survey.

It's free and is a great way to stay connected and involved at Castlemont even while we are in distance learning. Distance learning is a different way of teaching for our staff and learning for our students. We've made adjustments to how we have traditionally operated school. However, we understand the value and need of maintaining and incorporating regular services and supports such as counseling. These services can be accessed through Zoom and/or by phone. We have designed a referral process for families to utilize during distance learning that can be accessed online at any time. 
If you have a concern regarding your child that you would like to discuss with a counselor or if you would like more information about how to obtain counseling services, please complete the CUSD Parent Referral.

El aprendizaje a distancia es una forma diferente de enseñanza para nuestro personal y de aprendizaje para nuestros estudiantes. Hemos hecho ajustes a la forma en que tradicionalmente hemos operado la escuela. Sin embargo, entendemos el valor y la necesidad de mantener e incorporar servicios y apoyos regulares como el asesoramiento, a los que se puede acceder a través de Zoom y / o por teléfono. Hemos diseñado un proceso de referencia para que las familias lo utilicen durante el aprendizaje a distancia al que se puede acceder en línea en cualquier momento.

Boo Bags for Sale!

Tis’ the season for goblins, ghosts, and ghouls where the air gets chilly at night. Where witches are flying on broomsticks and Halloween is in sight!

Help raise money for our classrooms by buying a “BOO” Bag full of special treats inside! Castlemont teachers will put it together for you and deliver it in the night.

Whomever you choose to “BOO”, we will creep up to their doorstep, and then “POOF,” be out of sight!
