Jog-A-Thon

The 30th annual Jog-a-thon is this Friday! Classrooms are still in need of volunteers to bring in bottle water to keep the kids hydrated.  Check with your student's teacher to see if they are in need of water.  The event could not happen without all the volunteers and there are many classes still in need of help marking shirts for laps.  If you have some time Friday morning and would love to help out, please stop by the volunteer booth in front of room 19 for more details.

Otter Pop class photo order forms went home in this week's Monday Envelope.  Every class takes a group photo and can be purchased for $2.00 each.  Additional forms are available in the school office.

Lastly, do not forget to have your student continue to ask family and friends for pledges.  There are many wonderful prizes such as Petroglyph ceramic lounge gift cards for top sellers and all students who submit pledges, regardless of the amount, will be entered in a drawing for art supplies.  All pledges are due by Friday, May 30.

Message from the Superintendent

Dear Castlemont Families,

Educating students to their highest potential is job one for all of us in Campbell Union School District. As we work toward successfully completing this school year, we also are looking ahead at how to provide the best support to students in the next school year.

When school begins on August 22nd, Castlemont will have a new administrative team, as Principal Brown and Assistant Principal McAvoy have accepted these leadership positions at Monroe Middle School. Castlemont’s new Principal will be Kristen Prindle, who currently is Assistant Principal at Rolling Hills Middle School. We will begin a search to find a new Castlemont Assistant Principal to join her in the upcoming school year.

Ms. Prindle brings 14 years of experience as a school administrator and educator. She is a skilled communicator and advocate for educating students to their highest potential and is highly regarded by staff, students and families.

We believe this change will create a strong and effective team committed to continuing the great programs for Castlemont’s students, staff and families and preparing our future graduates for the challenges of their yet-to-be-defined futures.

Sincerely,

Shelly Viramontez, Ed.D., Superintendent

The Art Vistas Art Show on Tuesday evening was a huge success! Thank you to all the families who came to see the students' excellent artwork. The following photos are just a small sampling of the variety of artwork which was on display. Each student in the school had two items in the show.

The event wouldn't have been possible without the dedication of many volunteers who helped out during several weeks of the school year and the volunteers who set up the art show. And, a HUGE THANK YOU to Emily Zirkel who volunteered her time to plan and execute an amazing year of art activities. The art show was spectacular and our appreciation for all of the hard work is immeasurable.
