As some of you may have heard, Mrs. Gustin will be leaving Castlemont to move to Alabama.  While we are sad that she is leaving, we are wishing her well as she moves with her husband whose job has relocated.  Mrs. Gustin’s last day with us will be Friday, September 21, 2018. Though we will miss her, we have been fortunate to hire Mrs. Stacie Walters.  Mrs. Walters comes to us with eight years of teaching experience, primarily in grades K-2. Mrs. Walters will be working with Mrs. Gustin and the 2nd grade team to make this a smooth transition for your students.

If you have any questions, please contact Principal Eric Brown.

We are in desperate need of School Site Council parent members. Our School Site Council has three openings typically filled by our parents. The Council is one of the most important decision-making groups at Castlemont and is composed of five parent/community members and five representatives from the school’s staff.

The Council reviews the school plan annually, establishes a budget, makes modifications as necessary, and assists in the evaluation of the school’s programs. Members are elected by the groups that they represent. Parent and community representatives and alternates are elected for a two-year term. There will be five meetings this school year on Mondays at 3:00.

If you are interested in being added to the ballot for Parent/Community members, please submit a brief biography for the ballot to the office staff by Friday, September 14. We will have the election in Mid-September. If you have more questions about the council please ask in the office.
