CAASPP Testing Information for 3rd - 5th Grade Parents

The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP), will be given to Castlemont 3rd-5th grade students May 1-24.

We appreciate your support by making sure your child is well prepared for the assessments.  Make sure your child has a nutritious breakfast, gets plenty of sleep and arrives to school on time.  We also ask that you avoid scheduling appointments during the instructional day to avoid interfering with your child’s school day.

If you choose, you can have your child begin practicing the state testing by using the following link on a desktop or laptop computer (phones and tablets will not work): http://californiatac.org/practice-and-training/index.html Select "Student Interface Practice and Training Tests". Next, choose “Guest” for the log-in information. Pick the appropriate grade level so that your child is practicing the correct assessment.

This year, our students in grades 3–5 will participate in the statewide testing program called the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). The tests in the CAASPP System provide information to teachers, parents/guardians, and students about students’ progress and readiness for college and career.

Our school’s testing dates are:

  • 3rd-5th grades May 1 - May 24

We ask that all appointments are scheduled outside of regular school hours so as to not disrupt you students testing experience.

For tips on how to help your child do well on tests, go to www.campbellusd.org/files/testpreptips.pdf or ask your child’s teacher.

If you would like more information about the CAASPP System, please visit the Parent/Student tab of the CDE’s CAASPP Web page at www.cde.ca.gov/ta/tg/ca/index.asp?tabsection=3#ssr.

If you have questions about your child’s participation in CAASPP, or your right to have your child opt out of testing, please contact the Castlemont office.
