Sweet Thanks

The Castlemont Student Leadership Team would like to thank our school community for supporting our Sweet Treats Fundraiser to benefit the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA. We raised about $550 which we will be donating straight to the organization so that they can purchase much needed items off their wishlists. In addition, we will be giving them a bag of handmade cat toys made with love by the SLT. Thanks again for supporting all of our community projects this year. We are proud of this year's accomplishments made possible from the hard work of our dragon leaders!

Hello Castlemont Families,

On the eve of the last day of school, I would like to thank all of you for your support throughout this school year. Our staff has worked harder than ever to provide our students with quality instruction, social-emotional learning, a clean and safe environment, and regular communication. For those of you moving on to middle school, we wish you all success. For those of you staying with us, we will eagerly welcome you back on August 18th for our 2022-23 school year! Have a restful summer.

On-Campus COVID-19 Testing Ends This Week

Dear Castlemont School Families:

Next week is filled with many additional activities for students’ last week of school—including three shortened days. With that in mind, and with the additional at-home test kits being sent to families, we have decided that there will be no COVID-19 testing here on the last week of school.

Jog-a-thon This Friday

Castlemont students will be having fun in the sun this Friday as they take part in the Jog-a-thon. Grade level bands will be participating at the following times:

K-1: 8:40-9:35
2-3: 9:25-10:23
4-5: 10:15-11:25

DJ Randy will be back keeping everything on track and moving a long. Each student will receive a Jog-a-thon t-shirt! Extra t-shirts will be sold for $15 each.

Muestra de Arte Esta Noche

Está cordialmente invitado a asistir a nuestra exposición de arte Art Vistas, esta noche, 25 de mayo, de 5:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m. metro. en la Biblioteca de Castlemont. Ingrese por las puertas cerca de MU en Castlemont Ave. Este evento es gratuito.

Make Promotion Special / Hacer Promoción Especial

In an effort to make 5th grade promotion special, we would like to request the following from families:

Please email one photo of your child in kindergarten and one from 5th grade to your child’s teacher.
Please email additional photos of your child throughout their time here at Castlemont. These will be used for a slideshow shown in class on the day of promotion.

Art Show Tonight

Come see the wonderful artwork your child has created in our Art Vistas program. You are cordially invited to attend our Art Vistas Art Show, tonight, May 25th from 5:00- 8:00pm in the Castlemont Library. Please enter through the gates near the MU on Castlemont Ave. This event is free.

Our Art Vistas program is run entirely by fabulous Castlemont family volunteers. We look forward to even more family members joining us next year!

Castlemont Honorees

Castlemont is celebrating three exceptional women who support our school community. Jackie Hart, our Reading Intervention teacher is our Teacher of the Year. Brooke Tighe is our Volunteer of the Year. Mrs. Tighe coordinates our Art Vistas program, bringing it back to life. Peri Sivaram is our Classified Employee of the Year. Mrs. "S" facilitates our STEAM program. She is also being honored at county level on June 15th.
